My son was struggling in Spanish, so our family built the study tool we wished he'd had.
If you've ever watched your kid stare at a vocab list the night before a quiz, you know the feeling. You want to help, but maybe you don't speak the language. Tutors are expensive. And "just study more" isn't a plan.
That was our house not long ago. This is the story of how it turned into LearnVai.
How it got started
Our son was falling behind in Spanish. We tried the usual things, and none of them stuck.
What finally worked was simple. We sat down with him and used AI to turn his own class material into practice: flashcards from his vocab list, quizzes before tests, and short conversations at his level. Because it came from his class, it felt relevant instead of like extra homework.
His confidence came back, and so did his grades.
Not long after, I was laid off. It was a hard moment, but it also gave me time to ask a bigger question: if this helped our son, how many other students were stuck in the same place? Instead of just looking for the next job, our family decided to build that same help for everyone. That's how LearnVai started.
What LearnVai does today
LearnVai is an AI study app for high school language students. Your student uploads their class materials, tells LearnVai when the next quiz or test is, and gets a personal study plan built around it:
Flashcards and vocab matching made from what they're learning in class
Quizzes to get ready for test day
AI conversation practice to build real speaking confidence
Study history so parents can see the progress without hovering
It currently supports Spanish, French, and German (levels 1, 2 and 3).
The idea behind it is the one that worked for our son: the student does the thinking, and the AI helps them practice. Research backs that up. (Does AI Actually Help Students Learn? What the Research Says)
What's next
LearnVai is a family business, and we're just getting started. We're adding courses, listening to every student and parent who writes to us, and improving the app every week.
If your student is fighting through a language class, we'd love for you to try it. Get started at learnvai.com
